About the Client
Ekron Baptist Church, located in Ekron, KY is a rural congregation of approximately 300 members. It is also the church I was raised in throughout my childhood and teenage years, so it holds a very special place in my heart.
The Goal
After collaborating with the church’s internal media team, we set a goal to create an attractive new website design for visitors to learn more about the church and the necessary details to plan a visit.
The site also needed to function as a sermon resource library for those looking to hear messages online. One thing that was very important to the team at Ekron Baptist was to be able to easily add and edit the sermons themselves.
The Results
Every church needs real photographs to go on their website, period. Going all stock just doesn’t cut it, so we arranged to shoot photos during two different services to capture what a Sunday morning really feels like. It added the warmth, connection, and authentic charm we wanted first-time viewers to feel.
We decided to retouch their logo, since the colors and fonts felt slightly dated for 2019. We flattened the design, removing shadows and highlights while still keeping the layout and icon design intact.
We provided a custom CMS, or content management system for the church to manage their ministries pages as well as their sermons. This allows them to fill pieces of content into a simple form and publish new pages without having to worry about design or code.
For the sermon archive section of the website, we added advanced filtering capabilities by date and book of the bible to help those searching for something particular.
This project was a joy to work on, and we pray the website serves the church and helps them grow for years to come!
